Road trip!

Packed all of our stuff into the car yesterday and set off for Griffith to try and find some harvest work. It was a ten hour drive by the time we stopped for lunch etc but went pretty quickly.

.

Found a little suprise in the glove compartment

We stopped off at the supermarket and bought over 20 kilograms of tuna, you can never have too much tuna!

Two wild kangaroos crossed the road infront of us which was pretty cool. So since we have been out here we have seen whales, dolphins, kangaroos and spiders. Just koalas and sharks to see.

Lots of nice roads and views:

Stopped off to watch a local football match

Had our first night sleeping rough in the car last night and it was sort of ok. Didnt use the air beds though which was a big mistake!

Managed to find a hay-stacking job for $15 per hour, cash in hand which we start tomorrow morning at 8. Found some cool caves today but we are using the wifi in mcdonalds and its pretty slow so I'll update tomorrow

..and we shall call her Lola.

We bought a car today!
Went to look at a mitsubishi verada 3l v6 stationwagon today and sweet Jesus it was glorious. It was up for $2000 but we got it for $1600. I dont care what anyone says this is the coolest car I have ever seen/driven. Its a she. She is called Lola.

On the left is the lovely chap who sold us our whip

Going to be a tight fit with three of us!(seats do fold all the way down)

We even took her to the local mechanic to get checked over and he gave her the all clear.

We have also made a rather rash decision. Despite having jobs as milkmen lined up from tomorrow, we have decided to pack up our stuff and go on a 7 hour drive to a town called griffith to try and get work as fruit pickers. The milkman job only pays $300/wk +commission but fruit picking is between $700 and $1000 per week and will be a lot more fun.
Going to be sleeping in the car from tomorrow night onwards so may not get a chance to update this as much, but we will see!

Had another productive morning, think we have found ourselves a job but we find out tomorrow.
Also went to look at a car but it was like a million bucks so dont think we'll buy it.
Here is corey gazing in awe upon the 3.5l V6 of pure unadulterated brilliance

Then we went in the back garden and saw a redback spider, one of the most venomous spiders in the world, and Dave picked it up with a pair of tweezers. No big deal

Hungover.

Got way too drunk on friday, spent all of yesterday doing this

Jet lag

We were both still pretty jet lagged today, so cycled to the beach to watch the sun come up. It was nice.

Arrived in Sydney at about 6am local time, headed straight for the beach OBV

We spent some of the morning checking out hostels/cars/jobs and spent the rest of the day playing on the beach

We love giant steaks!

but they were too expensive sowe went for a "ham and chicken flavoured knob" instead!
