Around 5 days ago we set off from Sydney on a quest for Cairns. We left at 4am and did a huge 14 hours drive to byron bay and got there as it was getting dark
Then a random woman saw us eating our cold spagetti hoops and sausages on the beach and gave us a bottle of champagne for free, so we cracked it open and the night got pretty messy from that point onwards. Managed to blag our way into a hot tub etc.
Then we slept upright in the car, the first of many horrible nights sleep. We set off at 9am to try and get a good day of driving under our belts, but about an hour into the drive we saw this from the motorway. So we stopped and played water slides for a day.
Then did a bit of driving and cooked a wonderful meal of pasta, eggs, bolognese and sausages which made a nice change from cold beans and tuna. Made camp in a bp garage close to cairns, we were driving from 9am til 3am pretty much non-stop and got the worst night sleep in the world ever next to a busy motorway.
The next day we made it to cairns, there was a cage with lions in it in the park, you can kind of see a lion in this pic:
Then spent the day by the outdoor pool, weather here is awesome
Mike was confused by this poster
We predrank on the roof of the hostel and then had a really fun night out in a club called the woolshed. One of the bouncers was unbelievably huge and he played rugby for Tonga. This photo doesnt show just how big he was. Mike spend most of his night filming this bouncer as he was in awe of the sheer mass of the guy.
Then we went on a excursion to Josephine falls which was about 100km from cairns, really good fun. As you can probably tell our self-timer photography tekkers is improving
Then we made some friends in the hostel we were staying at (Gilligans, which a bit of a party hostel), really fun night but me and mike got kicked out for no reason
We woke up this morning and decided to get piercings so corey got a stud in his cartiledge, mike got a hoop in his cartiledge and I got my tragus done. We were all secretly nervous before and they hurt quite a bit but not as much as we expected.
Then we picked up the friends we made the night before and left on the longest drive ever to the waterfall where the mysterious girl video by peter andre was filmed. Also went to see this giant fig tree but that was a massive let down.
No idea what this spider was but it was pretty big and scary looking
We are still eating really well, yummy tiger bread, beans, cheese and ham
Going to try and keep it more up to date than at the moment, still having a ball in cairns, going to stay here for a few days then head down the coast. Wahooo
